I started developing a love for photography at a young age…probably at the age of 8 when I got my very own purple 35mm film camera. It was the coolest on the block!
I started to get a bit more serious about photography when my grandpa gave me a Minolta 35mm. What a beautiful camera! Yes, I also had a digital camera, but I wasn’t as concerned about that crappy point and shoot. I was drawn to this SLR and tried my very best to take better pictures, which was really hard! Later I bought a fancy point and shoot, again, made by Minolta. This camera really allowed me to take some (in my opinion) great photos. I eventually filled the role of our high school’s annual photographer. Yet another chance for me to get behind the lens and snap some shots.
I definitely would describe my photography abilities as beginner. Although I’d love to, I’ve never taken any formal classes or training. Really, it’s just a hobby of mine that I’ve always enjoyed, and I’m working to become better! Many times I have a result in my head that I’d like to capture through the lens….but it’s not very often that it comes out how I’d like it to.
I just bought my very own first digital SLR camera: Canon Rebel T3. Finally!
