Oh, it's been a while indeed!
I haven't forgot about the blog. In fact, there are many times when I think to update it, but then feel like it may not be good timing. Finally, today is the day.
God has been good. But when isn't He? This year I'm really trying to focus on all the blessings He sends my way. I'm sure I've been so blind as to not see many of them, but over all, it's been a good eye-opener for me. I'm seeing things a little differently now, and I like the new vision He's led me to. There are two things that lately I've been really thankful for:
1. Telecommunication.
What would I do without the phone? I've been missing mamma and pa like crazy, and I can't imagine how much more difficult it would be if I couldn't talk to her almost every day. Hearing her voice daily helps me to remember how blessed I am to have grown up as her child. To know that when I'm having a really rough night and just need some prayer, that I can call her up and be prayed for. To ask her a quick cooking question. To have someone there to just talk to who cares about how my day is going. To instantly let her know how much I miss her. To ask her how my dear, precious animals are doing back home. Seriously guys, I'm so thankful for this quick avenue of communication.
2. Food.
Lately I've been trying to fill our fridge with healthy and nutritious food. One day on my way into our home with bags and bags of groceries weighing me down, I realized how blessed I am to even have they say in what type of food I'm bringing into our home. I know full well that there are people who would do anything just to have one filling meal a day- nutritious or not. Here I am, living in a nation where I have the opportunity to work and therefore spend $70 on a load full of groceries of my choice for my husband and I to fuel our body with.
Not everyday do I have a realization of blessings like this, but as I've been asking, I know the Lord has been opening my eyes to the blessings that I've otherwise been blind to. God is good.
On that note, here's a pictorial update of the many good times we've had the last few months!
